History of Ordsall Hall

Ordsall hall, it’s a place with a long history, full of drama, mystery and legends. Century by century, this building was changing a lot of owners, it survived in rebuilding and still pleases us with its historical past. Hall was opened in 15th century, although there has been a house on the site for over 750 years. The most important period of Ordsall Hall’s life was  Radclyffe family, who lived in the house for more than 300 years. There are a lot of stories and myths about of the ghosts in Ordhall . One of the myths is telling that their lives a spirit of the “White lady” no one knows exactly who this enigmatic figure in white is, but most people thought that she is the spirit of Lady Margaret Radclyffe, who died, broken hearted, in 1599 after the death of her beloved brother Alexander.
